A “SECOND CHANCE” FOR JASON HOGAN

Jason Michael Hogan and his family, friends and loved ones seek your support in helping him persuade the “powers that be,” the courts, and the Colorado Governor to give Jason Hogan a “Second Chance” at life, by commuting his sentence and/or pardon him for the alleged crime in Case # 00CR3271, a crime in which he is “Actually Innocent”!

All people deserve a second chance, an opportunity to right wrongs, to learn from mistakes, a chance to redeem oneself.  To prove that we are not defined by the mistakes we’ve made, but by the choices we make after them.

How many have had a second chance at life, at love, at opportunity? How many are successful because of a second chance?  Are where they are in life because of second chance opportunities? Is this not a privilege, a mercy extended by God himself to His servants when he repents, that he be given a second chance? So who are we, as people, to deny another a second chance, the very thing we seek, or at some point, sought ourselves?

A “Second Chance” is the very thing denied to Jason Hogan.  He has not had the “Chance” to really even experience life.  To experience marriage, family, kids; the inalienable Right written in the very Constitution, pursued by every American; the Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Jason Hogan has been incarcerated since March 7, 2000, at the young age of 20, and was sentenced to an unjust, unfair, and unfitting term of 77 years.  A sentence so disparaging, so unconscionable that is has by virtue, claimed his life without any second chance opportunity.  This lengthy sentence was illicitly imposed due to shoddy police/investigative work, or lack thereof, as well as ineffective legal council.

There is absolutely no physical evidence that exists in this case.  There was no investigation conducted, and no facts gathered to substantiate guilt.  The victim stated she didn't get a good look at the perpetrators face, and could only describe a tattoo she saw on the back of his left hand, a tattoo of a black sun.

Jason Hogan does not have, nor has he ever had any tattoos on his hands, nor does he fit the description of the “real” perpetrator, yet he sits in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Jason Hogan is in fact “Actually Innocent” of this alleged crime, and there is more than enough exculpatory evidence to ascertain his innocence.

How does “one” person, “one” voice have the power to say that Jason Hogan does not deserve a second chance at life and this opinion be acceptable? It does not! And its power is limited, for the voices of many are much louder and more powerful than the voice of “one.”

This is why Jason, his family, friends and loved ones urge you to support this cause, this SECOND CHANCE FOR JASON HOGAN, and sign this petition.

Thank you so much for your support.
